He liked it so he put a ring on it!

Yep, it's official! Good ole Ian popped the question! For those of you who don't know, the wait is over!! Ian came home at the beginning of this month from his mission and it only took 17 days for him to propose! Our wedding has been in the works for a while now, so it wasn't that much of a surprise. However, how he proposed is what really surprised me! This is how it played out...

Pretty much after a long evening, we decided to play a game of pick scrabble. When I attempted to put together some words, Ian decided to lend a helping hand and used the letters to spell out "marry me." I admit I was a little confused until he pulled out a ring and got down on one knee. I said "yes" of course and now all the rest is history! Everyone was in on the plan so we have lots of pictures to document our special moment!
Here she is! I think he did a wonderful job picking it out! :)

I'm still here

I know it has been ages since I last blogged.. I also know that I said I would be better about it and it's no secret I didn't keep that promise. However, I'm here blogging on this nice snowy evening in new England! A lot has occured over the last few months.. So the more exciting news is that I bought myself an iPhone for Christmas and that my 730 days of waiting now ends in four days!!! Yep, the man is finally coming home!!!! I'm hardly able to keep my feet on the ground....I'm just so excited!! Not to Mention my stomach turns into knots when I think about it too long!! However, I must give a shout out to my cameron's for keeping me sane over the last couple years!! We have had many lazy Sundays so we decided to have a last hoo-rah today!! My family came over to have dinner and then we watched the other side of heaven in honor of Ian. : ) Not to mention we had Tim Tam slams!! Yum!!!

A Lobstah Feast!

I few nights ago, I went over to my friend Lindsey's house to have a lobstah dinnah!! There is nothing like a good ole' New England style dinnah for a treat! I know I was born a Mainah for a reason; I love to endulge in the goodness that the sea has to offer. I'm pretty sure that one of the things I will miss most about this place is my fishy friends. It was a quite a site to see us trying to cook our meal. Usually, the lobstah has already been cooked by a resturant cook or my uncle has cooked it... but we tried it out ourslves for once. We let them leave this world happy and let them strech their legs on the kitchen floor before it came time to take a dip in the hot tub! It just seemed like a nice thing to do before eating them... and they didn't let us down either...

Back Again!!

Hello friends! I know I said I was going to start blogging, but I'm going to really get serious with it now! This summer was filled of lots of fun stuff. Although most of the time I was working, I did have some fun up on Islesboro Island in Maine. It's a great place and I just love to be there. Ian also became a Zone Leader this summer too. He's enjoying his mission and is working very, very, very hard. He says the time is going by quicker than ever and he loves what he's doing. However, he's excited to come home and be able to watch his Celtics repeat their path to victory again this year! ... and maybe hang out with me too. ; )

Here is a picture I took while fishing on the bay this summer.

A Day For Change

An exciting thing happened today...Ian became a district leader in the Ogden Mission. After only training a new greenie in Farr West for only six weeks, he has now been transferred out to Northern Salt Lake to head up that district for a while. He says he's scared, but I know he will do a wonderful job....I know he's ready for the task! So, that's all the exciting news for today!

And so it begins...

Well, today is the start of a new page in my life... I'm starting a blog. I'm not into the whole myspace and facebook pages... yet, I still want to keep in touch with those who no longer surround me anymore. So, I figure this is the best solution to this dilemma in my life. First of all, I've noticed that most pages that I read are "couple" pages. However, unmarried Heidi is going to have to do for now. I'm working on the "couple" part! ; )

An exciting thing that happened over this past weekend was the fact that it was Mother's Day. I never thought I would enjoy Mother's Day as much as I did and I don't even have children to wait on me! I got to talk to my mighty missionary! He's out there in the harsh world of Utah. He's got it so bad; pissed of members, green jello, hot showers and picked up tabs where ever he goes out to eat. I tell ya, it's too bad he didn't get sent to somewhere nicer like Ethiopia or Chili. Poor guy!

But in all seriousness, it was awesome to get to talk to him! Even though so much time passes between conversations, we're still able to pick things right up where left them! : )
